Q. ITR of Amalgamating (Transferor) Company

Dear Sir,

We have option of ITR-A u/s 170A to furnish revised ITR of Amalgamated (Transferee) Company. But how to file ITR of Amalgamating (Transferor) Company ?

I have created Login of amalgamating company under Income tax login of Amalgamated company as "register to act on behalf of another person". Option of ITR coming there is only of ITR-A in which words are written as "For Successor Entities to furnish ITR u/s 170A". There is no option to file ITR of Predecessor entity.

Please guide how to file revised ITR after amalgamation for Amalgamating (Transferor/predecessor) company?

They need not file as they don’t exist on the date of filing. Further, the provision under section 170 is only for the succession. Also, while filing for the successor company, the department would automatically taken into account.
