Q. Tax audit ceiling limit

I have two queries regarding Tax Audit assignments ceiling limit

1. In case of a Partnership firm, the limit is 60 audits per partner. For instance, there are 3 partners in a firm. Can One partner do all the 180 audits (3*60) if no other partner is doing tax audit of any client?

2. What will be the limit if out of 3 partners, 1 partner is part time partner.

Part-time partner is a part-time is COP or full-time COP….it would depend on the same. In case a partner is a partner in one firm and also doing practice as sole proprietor, THEN his limit would be 60 inclusive of both the sole proprietorship and partnership. In case he is a part-time COP he’s not entitled to do any audit service.
